24” x 24” x 2’ Spray paint, acrylic, canvas
Experimenting with this medium was almost by accident. The way the ink finds its own way across the paper thrills me every time. There’s no hard and fast control of where it goes and that is oddly freeing for me. The vibrancy of the pigments in the ink is what attracted me initially, and the expressive, watery look.
My first love was, and has always been, paint. While I coveted working in oil, acrylic was readily more accessible, faster to work with, and offered very intense pigment options. I’ve dabbled with so many various types of media to know I prefer color, texture, and dimension. Paper appeals to me because of its kinship with books. I liken using paper in my pieces to reading - it’s an adventure in every piece I create.
Everything I make is one-of-a-kind and is signed verso (on the back). If you are interested in purchasing a piece of original artwork, please visit my shop or my Saatchi Art profile.
For select works, I do offer prints, fun gifts, decor, apparel, housewares and tech-ware via FineArtAmerica, Society6, Le Galeriste, and Red Bubble.
I welcome commissioned pieces. If you are interested in a custom piece, please email me StephanieSommerladBello@gmail.com with COMMISSION in the subject field. I'd love to make something unique just for you.
